Instructions on Cooking Our Rice

First, fresh rice only needs one cup water to one cup rice. Any more water will result in very loose or "porridge" rice.

Below is how to cook the rice in a pot:

1. Rinse the rice. You do not have to wash it. The rice is natural and has nothing added to it.

2. Measure one cup of rice to one cup of water

3. Bring the water to boil

4. Add the rinsed rice into the pot (cover the pot as needed between stirs)

5. Stir gently and allow to come to a boil. Adjust heat as needed to not overflow.

6. Cook the rice and allow the water to reduce to the rice level in the pot

7. Turn heat down to low and let the rice continue to cook

8. Once the water is about gone and steam is all that is coming from the rice, turn off the power

9. Take the rice away from heat and allow it to sit until you are ready to serve.

*Time of cooking is determined by your stove heat, altitude, and hardness of water

Here is how to cook the rice in a rice cooker:

1. Rinse the rice

2. Measure one cup of water for one cup of rice

3. Add the rice and water to the rice cooker

4. Select "Brown'' rice on your setting if available (if this function is not available, use it as you would cooking any rice).

5. Let the rice cook until the machine cycle is complete.

6. Serve the rice as normal

Here is how to steam the rice. (This gets the best character from the fresh rice)

1. Rinse the rice

2. Put enough water into your steamer to allow for 25 minutes of steaming.

3. Place the rinsed rice into the steamer and cover

4. Steam the rice for 20 minutes

5. Check the rice for softness (feels like "gummy" bear - according to my daughter)

6. Fluff the rice on a clean cookie pan or sheet to get the excessive heat and moisture out.

7. Serve the rice normally

Note: If you don't have a rice steamer, you can make one with a simple few items perhaps already found in the kitchen. You need a colander, cheesecloth or similar, a pot that will fit the colander that has a good lid. Put enough water into the pot but do not have too much to allow the boiling water to touch the rice.

Instructions:

1. Have all the items together

2. Moisten the cheesecloth

3. Place rice into the cheesecloth and lay it into the colander

4. Turn on heat and allow to steam

5. Follow steam rice instructions.

Please pass this along to anyone that has bought rice and needs assistance. Enjoy. Hope this helps and if you need further assistance, we would be glad to help,
